The print transfers you can see on the plaques below were created with PVA Glue Transfer, however you can replicate this effect using Water Decals that are available in our online shop at BigBite Studio – Print Transfers.
If you want to try it yourself, here are the links to some of those graphics:
Vintage American Label: Lion Coffees #018
Vintage American Advert: Christmas #037
Martial Arts Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba #086
Here you can see some examples of wooden plaques with print.
All of them were made on reclaimed wood found on London streets, mostly using PVA-glue-print-transfer technique.

Hi! I’ve used this technique with 2 photos, one historic building and a fun one for the niece. LOVE how easy it is, but was wondering about the sanding at the end. Mine were left very smooth and glossy as soon as the film was removed. Sanding just seemed to scratch. The fun photo is absolutely fine left glossy but the historic photo looks a bit “fake” if you know what I mean. What grade sandpaper did you use??? Any other tips with respect to this???
Thanks SO much for this post/tutorial. Absolutely love it 🙂
