The print transfer you can see on the piece below was created with Water Slide Decals, available in our online shop at BigBite Studio – Print Transfers.
If you want to try it yourself, you can have this design as
Water Decal: Vintage French Advert: Corset Emily #003
Vintage Shabby Chic Chest of Drawers with French Corset Print
This is old chest of three drawers we renovated using print transfer techniques
As you can see on pictures it was painted before, unfortunately it did not help in our works. It was four or five thick layers of oil paint with a lot of greasy dirt in between. It took ages before we could get started.
We painted it with our favourite Annie Sloan’s paints
PRINTING
For printing we have used some stunning vintage French advert. You can find it at Cottage Market page
TECHNIQUE
We transferred this vintage print using water decal method. You can find full instructions on this subject in our tutorial on making shabby chic furniture with prints
PAINT
Annie Sloan – ‘Old White’ chalk paint
Annie Sloan – ‘Paris Grey’ chalk paint
Vintage Shabby Chic Chest of Drawers before renovation

Hello,
I absolutely love your site and the finish of your pieces. Re the decal you used for this dresser, how did you get that watercolour / stamped background look on the front of each drawer as it doesn’t appear to be in the decal. Is that a stenciled paint job etc?
Hi Esther,
Thank you! We really glad you like our job, the way how to do the background you asked for you can find in our tutorial here:

Thank you,
