Vintage Chest of 2 Drawers (approx. 1930s)

painted in Shabby Chic Teal Sea shades
This is a final (so far) result of our chasing for perfect turquoise. We ended up with this beautiful vintage chest of two drawers painted in shabby chic style with teal sea colours.
The chest itself is quite old, comes approx from 1930s. We solved her from some barbarian’s hands, you can see her previous look at images at the bottom of the page.
The wood (after stripping down the old varnish) was in perfect condition, so after revealing the top we decided to preserve its beauty by painting it with Dark Oak Stain and protecting with tough and durable Satin Polyurethane Varnish.
The body first was painted and textured with ‘Florence’ and after that with mix of ‘Florence’ and ‘Greek Blue’. At the end – it was covered with clear and dark waxes, to achieve depth of texture and saturation of colours.
We made a print as well. This time it is a white seahorse, which corresponds nicely with these marine colours.
