Furniture Makeover – Vintage Italian Beauty

So we have been commissioned again.

This time by lovely Italian couple for a makeover of some of their charming Italian pieces. We have done part of the job so far, and would love to share with you the results.

Vintage Table

First of all we would like to introduce a stunning old table, which was first on our list. The table is really old and cute. We love the unspoiled curves and it was pleasure to work on it.

The table supposed to be a desk for a lovely doughter of our customer.

That is why we left the top unpainted, just stained with Dark Oak.

And as she loves bright colours, we painted the table with a mix of Annie Sloan’s ‘Florence’ & ‘Greek Blue’ chalk paints and afterwards we sealed it with ‘Clear Wax’ &’ Dark Wax’. And all this to match with the chest of drawers she bought from us some time before.

We used the same pattern as with a chest – natural dark brown top and flat mediterrean green paint on the body.

Vintage File Cabinet

The second piece is a special, particularly because we have never had chance to restore anything like this.

After consultation with our lovely customers we came up with idea to dress up the beauty with no paint this time, just give it a good clean, stain the body and decoupage all the 12 drawers outside and inside as well as the cupboard doors underneath.

As the card catalogue was created to keep in files, documents and maybe letters, so we have ended up with that look.

We used our collage with old letters which you can find here.

This is end of part one of the Italian beauties furniture restoration; we are now working on few pieces which we will finish in the nearest future. I am so excited to show you more of our Italian pieces when we restore them.
